For every successful referral you send to us, you will receive a credit equal to one monthly payment. After 5 successful referrals you will receive a credit equal to two monthly payments for each successful referral.

LOAN APPLICATION QUESTIONS

Q. Am I eligible?
A. If you are Active Duty Military (Army,Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard) and can set up a discretionary military allotment for the period of your loan, YOU CAN BE APPROVED FOR A LAPTOP.

Q. What if I have bad credit, no credit or a bankruptcy?
A. Our Program specializes in helping you to improve your credit and get back on the road to financial health. So yes, bad credit or no credit should not stop you from applying. However, you cannot be enrolled in a consumer credit counseling program. And any bankruptcy must be discharged and you need to be up-to-date on your current bills.

Q. How do I build or improve my Credit by applying?
A. Once you are approved, every monthly payment you make is reported to TransUnion and is reflected in your credit score. Every timely payment builds and improves your credit score. Having a good credit rating can result in lower interest rates and overall lower payments.

Q. What is my "Home of Record" address?
A. It is your address of record – normally, this is the address from where you enlisted when you joined the military.

Q. If I have additional income, will it help?
A. If you are the primary borrower and are active duty, we do not consider income from a second job. If your debt-to-income ratio is high, we will consider income from your spouse, assuming that your spouse is employed for at least 90 days and can provide a current pay stub with year-to-date income.

Q. What is my estimated payment?
A. All laptops are available with $0 down*. Your monthly payment can be as low as $85 per month for a 24 month payment plan or as high as $140 for a 12 month plan. This is based on a $1,500 laptop bundle. Please be advised that this is only an estimate and the final payment amount will be determined by the options you choose during the process. Best of all, there is no money down* and you can prepay anytime without penalty.

Q. What is my loan application status? How long before I hear from you?
A. To find out the current status of your loan application you can call us at any time. You will also receive an e-mail that will instruct you on what you will need to do in order to complete your loan request process. We strive to provide the BEST and fastest service possible, and will normally respond to you by e-mail within 24 business hours of receiving your completed application and supporting documentation. Response time may fluctuate, however, depending on the volume of applications we receive and seasonal demand.

Q. My loan status says "needs review." What does that mean?
A. When your loan is in "needs review" status it means that we have not yet reviewed your application. We will normally respond to your completed application within 24 business hours after receiving the supporting documentation. Response time may fluctuate, however, depending on the volume of applications we receive and seasonal demand.

Q. Can I apply if I already have a loan?
A. Yes, but It depends on the number and amount of the other allotments you have as well as your payment history.

Q. How many payments do I have to make before I can reapply for another loan?
A. Each loan request is evaluated individually. While we would like to see a minimum of six payments to establish a satisfactory payment history on your existing loan, we welcome our customers to apply at any time.

Q. What is an EFT?
A. An Electronic Funds Transfer or EFT, allows for your payment to be electronically withdrawn directly from your checking account(s) or, in some cases, from your savings account(s). We use this as a back-up only in the event that your allotment does not go through. The EFT form is a requirement of the application process.

Q. How will I know if I was approved?
A. You will be contacted by telephone or email. It usually takes 24 hours after we receive your LES or pay statement before you will know the status of your application. In some cases, a response may come the following morning.

Q. What is the total price?
A. Financed Price vs. Cash Price
The monthly payments we quote are the financed prices which depend on your credit history and the repayment term. The financed price includes set up fees.

Q. How do I pay for one of your great packages?
A. You can use two simple payment methods. Either click the BUY NOW button and you can use PayPal or any credit card. Or you can click the SSL secure APPLY NOW button and get approved for an easy monthly repayment plan on allotment directly from your LES.

Q. Is there a down payment required?

Q. What type of loan am I applying for?
A. You are applying for a Retail Installment Contract Loan. This is not a lease and it is not a rent-to-own contract. You may elect to payoff the loan early which will reduce the finance charges. There is no pre-payment penalty.

Q. How will I pay for my loan?
A. We have several repayment options available, each with features and benefits designed to help you protect your credit history. Our two most popular options include:

+ Allotment – This is an automatic deduction that comes out of your paycheck.
+ Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) – This is an automatic withdrawal from your checking account. If you have any questions, please call us at 800-697-5805.

Q. Why do you recommend repayment of this loan by allotment?
A. DFAS instituted Discretionary allotments for the convenience of the Service Member. Using an allotment to repay your loan is extremely beneficial to you because:
  • It's Convenient & Automatic
  • It's Timely
  • No Check to write each month
  • No need to remember a due date
  • No need to worry when you are in the Field, TDY, Emergency Leave, Deployed, etc
  • The allotment service center sends us your money by the first of the month -- No worry about late payments or late charges

Q. Can I make a payment by credit card?

INTEREST, FEES AND OTHER CHARGES

Q. What is the interest rate and length of payment?
A. This is set up on a monthly repayment loan that can be as long as 24 months. You are able to take care of the account as fast as you wish. The interest rate can be as low as 1.58% per month or 19% annually up to 2% per month or 24% annually.

Q. Are there any set up fees?
A. There is a one time set up fee for financed accounts of $175.00. This amount is included in the monthly payment. When you make subsequent purchases you will not be charged a set up fee.

Q. When do my interest charges begin?
A. Interest begins to accrue on your account when we ship your computer.

Q. Is there a prepayment penalty if I want to pay-off my loan early?
A. No. You can pay-off your account at any time without any penalties or fees.

Q. How do I know that there are no hidden charges or costs?
A. Because the APR or Annual Percentage Rate quoted quoted on your retail installment contract is the same as the Interest Rate. That means that no extra charges or fees have been added.

Q. Can I benefit from the Service Members Civil Relief Act (SCRA) that President Bush signed into law, amending the Soldier's and Sailor's Relief Act (SSRA)?
A. The new act specifically calls for a 6% interest rate on loan obligations that were taken prior to being called to active duty. This means that any pre-service debt would be eligible for rate reductions. If you were on active-duty when you took out a loan with us, you will not qualify under the new SCRA.

PRODUCT QUESTIONS

Q. How Long does it take to receive my new laptop?
A. Credit approval usually takes 24 hours. The allotment forms can be completed in 24-48 hours. All merchandise is ordered within 48 hours of set-up of an active military allotment. Depending on how the merchandise is shipped will determine the length of time for you to receive your laptop. Most products are shipped UPS. Shipping is free.

Standard delivery time is 5-7 days. A benefit of purchasing your new computer system from us is that we ship to any APO address in the USA. To do so, we must use the U.S. Postal Service and the Military Postal Service, which has no tracking system. However, all shipments are fully insured, so there is no risk of financial loss in the unlikely event that an item should be mislaid en route. In such a case, we'll simply replace your computer once you've filed a claim with the USPS.

Q. Can the computers be upgraded?

Q. Is there a warranty? What kind of warranty?
A. Yes. There is a manufacturers warranty included. All products have their own manufacturer warranty. We deal with reputable companies with outstanding service. Some products come with a cross-ship warranty and others include in home service. Manufacturer Warranty details are best researched directly with the manufacturer.

Q. Are these computers brand new?
A. These are brand new, top-quality, fully upgradeable, computers with a full manufacturers warranty. We do not sell used or refurbished equipment.

Q. Can I upgrade these systems prior to delivery?
A. Yes. Upon approval of your application, your representative will give you your upgrade options.

Q. How many Laptops can I buy?
A. For your first purchase, we suggest you buy just one. We also appreciate and reward you for referrals so if someone you refer buys one, we credit you one payment. You need to let us know who you referred. Please refer to the referral program described in more detail herein.

Q. Do you sell anything other than laptops? How about Desktops?
A. Right now we’re focusing on Laptops because that is what you’ve asked us to do. We want you to take your laptop with you wherever you are. Play your CD’s, watch movies, download your favorite MP3 tunes, and share great digital photos with friends online. In time, we’ll expand our product line and bundle other accessories. Give us your feedback on what you’d like to see us offer. We’ll reward you with a free computer headset for every comment we act on.

Q. What if I want a return on my product?
A. No problem. Just return the entire product in its original packing box within thirty (30) days prepaid by insured mail, insurance prepaid and enclose a note with your name, address and date purchased. We don’t charge you a re-stocking fee and we don’t require you to exchange the product for another one. Please note that the full refund is only applicable if you return the product unused. The reason we require this is that the product is considered “used” and it voids our warranty in being able to sell the product as “new” if the computer is turned on, registered or if any data is loaded onto the hard drive. In this case we are not able to accept your return. We are proud to have a clean record with the Better Business Bureau so you can trust that we stand behind our return guarantee.

A. At this time our system is not set up to access your account online. You will need to call us at 800-697-5805 to check for that information, or e-mail your request to customerservice@militarytechsource.com from your military e-mail address. Please include your social security number for us to access your account information.
